Caesar Salad with bacon and cherry tomatoes
Ingredients
- 100 g smoked bacon (thin slices)
- 1 head romaine lettuce
- 100 g cherry tomatoes
- 4 tablespoons grated parmesan or Grana Padano
- approx. 10 cm piece of baguette
Dressing
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 small clove garlic or 0.5 teaspoon granulated
- 1 teaspoon mustard (e.g. honey mustard)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Preparation
- Cut bacon slices into cubes and place in a pan. Fry, stirring occasionally, until bacon is nicely browned, set aside on a plate.
- Place cut baguette cubes in the same pan and fry for about a minute.
- Prepare dressing by mixing all ingredients in a small bowl (peel fresh garlic first and press through a garlic press).
- Rinse romaine lettuce, dry, chop, mix with dressing, add halved cherry tomatoes and bacon.
- Transfer to salad bowls, top with baguette cubes and sprinkle with parmesan.
Tips
I don't salt salads anymore, as I use salt sparingly in the kitchen, but you can season the dressing if you prefer - with salt and pepper.
