Caesar Salad with bacon and cherry tomatoes

Caesar Salad with bacon and cherry tomatoes

Servings:

Ingredients

  • 100 g smoked bacon (thin slices)
  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 100 g cherry tomatoes
  • 4 tablespoons grated parmesan or Grana Padano
  • approx. 10 cm piece of baguette

Dressing

  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 small clove garlic or 0.5 teaspoon granulated
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (e.g. honey mustard)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Preparation

  1. Cut bacon slices into cubes and place in a pan. Fry, stirring occasionally, until bacon is nicely browned, set aside on a plate.
  2. Place cut baguette cubes in the same pan and fry for about a minute.
  3. Prepare dressing by mixing all ingredients in a small bowl (peel fresh garlic first and press through a garlic press).
  4. Rinse romaine lettuce, dry, chop, mix with dressing, add halved cherry tomatoes and bacon.
  5. Transfer to salad bowls, top with baguette cubes and sprinkle with parmesan.

Tips

I don't salt salads anymore, as I use salt sparingly in the kitchen, but you can season the dressing if you prefer - with salt and pepper.
