Apple Cinnamon Waffles – with Roasted Apples and Cinnamon
Ingredients
Waffle Batter
- 1 and 1/2 cups (240 g) wheat flour
- 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
- 1/3 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 and 1/3 cups (350 ml) milk
- 2 eggs
- 0.5 cup (125 ml) melted butter or vegetable oil
Roasted Apples
- 1 kg apples (Grey Rennet)
- 3 - 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
and
- powdered sugar
- whipped cream
Preparation
- Pour the flour into a bowl, add baking powder, salt, sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon. Mix everything together.
- Add the milk, eggs and melted butter or oil. Mix with a mixer or whisk into a smooth batter without lumps. You can let the batter rest (for about 15 minutes), but it's not necessary.
- Preheat the waffle iron. Bake the waffles to a golden color for about 3 - 3.5 minutes or for the time specified in the waffle iron instructions. Place the batter with a ladle, then use the convex side to spread the batter evenly over the entire surface.
- After baking, transfer the waffles to a metal rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with roasted apples and whipped cream.
